“1 Article 1 Coffee” Event by the Speech and Language Therapy Club
At the event organized by the Speech and Language Therapy Club, students chatted about an academic article over coffee and offered scientific assessments.
The “1 Article 1 Coffee” event, organized by the Üsküdar University Speech and Language Therapy Club, was held on March 26, 2026, in the Council Room. At the event, held in a friendly and interactive atmosphere, students evaluated an academic article and had the opportunity to experience a culture of scientific thinking and discussion.
As part of the event, an article selected by Lect. Ayşe Buse Saraç, one of the department’s lecturers, was discussed together with the students. Throughout the program, the article’s content, academic approach, and significance for the field were evaluated, and students actively took part in the discussions by sharing their views.
Held over coffee, the event offered a more relaxed setting for communication than the traditional academic meeting format. Participants had the opportunity both to reflect on the academic content and to communicate one-on-one with the lecturers and ask the questions they were curious about.
During the program, the importance of the habit of reading academic articles, the processes of properly evaluating scientific sources, and the role of critical thinking in professional development were also discussed. Students had the opportunity to consider that scientific studies are not limited to coursework but are also one of the important tools for developing a professional perspective.
Throughout the event, attended by approximately 13 students, there was an active exchange of ideas among the students. Participants stated that such small-group academic events both increase motivation to learn and strengthen academic communication.
The “1 Article 1 Coffee” event, organized by the Speech and Language Therapy Club, was one of the productive events that supported students’ scientific thinking skills, encouraged academic exchange, and strengthened social interaction.
