EFM Training with Case Examples by the First Touch to a Miracle Club
At the event organized by the First Touch to a Miracle Club, students learned about interpreting EFM recordings and evaluating risk findings through case examples.
The “EFM Study with Case Examples” event, organized by the Üsküdar University First Touch to a Miracle Club, was held online via the Zoom platform on January 13, 2026. At the event, which drew strong participation from students interested in maternal and infant health, comprehensive information was shared on the evaluation and interpretation of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) recordings.
Specialist Midwife Ruken Merve Avşar, who attended the event as a speaker, explained the basic operating principles of EFM and highlighted the importance of this method in fetal assessment processes. Throughout the program, how to distinguish between normal and risky EFM findings was discussed in detail through case examples.
Participants had the opportunity to learn how important the accurate interpretation of EFM recordings is in clinical processes, particularly in monitoring maternal and infant health. The assessments made through real case examples during the event helped students evaluate theoretical knowledge from a practical perspective.
Throughout the program, students followed with interest the presentations on fetal heart rate patterns, the evaluation of risk findings, and clinical observation processes. Thanks to the case-based training model, participants had the opportunity to carry out analyses through different clinical scenarios.

At the end of the event, attended by approximately 108 students, students stated that their knowledge and skills in interpreting EFM recordings had improved. Participants noted in particular that the presentation, supported by case examples, made learning easier and helped make the subject more understandable. Requests were also expressed for similar events to continue, and some participants shared the view that hands-on training held in person could be more interactive.
The event held by the First Touch to a Miracle Club was one of the productive events that helped students develop their clinical assessment skills and increased awareness in the field of maternal and infant health.
