Kindness Meets Handcraft: The “Good Things Shop” Campaign in Üsküdar
The Üsküdar University Club for the Benefit of Children with Leukemia launched a meaningful donation campaign with its "Good Things Shop" charity bazaar held on December 25-26, 2025 . At the event, where handmade products prepared by the mothers of children undergoing leukemia treatment were offered for sale, all proceeds were donated to LÖSEV to bring hope to the little heroes.
The Club for the Benefit of Children with Leukemia, one of Üsküdar University’s societies with a strong sense of social responsibility, launched a heartwarming solidarity project as the new year approached. The "Good Things Shop" event, held on December 25-26, 2025 , was organized to support families fighting leukemia and to raise public awareness.
At stands set up in the lobby areas of our university’s Çarşı Campus and NP Health Campus, handmade items lovingly prepared by the mothers of children with leukemia were exhibited. During the two-day event held on December 25-26, students and academic staff showed great interest and contributed to the donation effort through their purchases. In the event, in which club members played an active role, the story of the mothers’ effort and love behind each product was shared with participants.
The campaign, in which approximately 26 club members took part, raised a total of 5621 TL in cash. This meaningful donation was delivered against an official receipt to LÖSEV representative Cem Çolakoğlu to be used for the needs of children undergoing leukemia treatment. The spirit of unity and solidarity displayed was praised on campus as much as the size of the donation.
Through awareness activities carried out throughout the event, it was once again emphasized that leukemia is a treatable disease and that moral support is important in this process. Club for the Benefit of Children with Leukemia officials stated that they were proud to share in the families’ financial and emotional struggle by bringing the mothers’ handiwork to the university. The strong turnout on December 25-26, 2025 once again affirmed Üsküdar University’s vision of students who are sensitive to social issues.
At the end of the program, the students, delighted by the successful completion of the event, expressed that they will continue similar projects in partnership with LÖSEV in the future. As this high-quality charitable activity under the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS) came to an end with the belief that "kindness multiplies when shared," the results achieved turned into great hope for little hearts.
