Palestinian Land Day Celebrated

Club activities organized under the roof of Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) continue at full speed. The event titled "46th anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day and 11th anniversary of the Syrian revolution" organized by the International Jerusalem Volunteers Club took place at Üsküdar University Ayhan Songar Conference Hall.

Club activities organized under the umbrella of Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department continue at full speed. International Jerusalem Volunteers Club organized an event titled "46th anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day and 11th anniversary of the Syrian revolution" on April 1st between 16:00-18:00 at Üsküdar University Ayhan Songar Conference Hall. The event was attended by Islam Asalya, Isra Almudallal, Saleh Zigari, Ahmad Hamada, Raid Alsalih, leader of the White Helmets, Nidal Wakkan and Muhammad Kendo.

Islam Asalya introduced the Palestinian land day and told stories. Isra Almudallal, an anchor for TRT Arabic channel, spoke about the role of individuals and students in telling important stories about Palestine and Syria. Saleh Zigari, a youtuber, was detained by Israel. He told his and his friends' stories during that time. Ahmad Hamada told stories of brutal arrests by the regime in Syria and the hardships there. Raid Alsalih, the leader of the White Helmets, the volunteer civil defense team that saves the lives of people trapped under the rubble of regime bombs, described the challenges they face and how they have saved 125,000 lives. Nidal Wakkan drew a moving picture during the program. Syrian singer Mohammed Kendo sang moving songs and melodies about the homeland with the students.

"Jerusalem is lonely, Jerusalem is depressed, Jerusalem is crying"

Speaking at the program, Sadık Paksoy, Event Manager of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, said that we should not forget our sensitivities on this special day and that remembering them is one of our religious obligations. Stating that Jerusalem is the heart of the whole ummah, Paksoy said, "But right now Jerusalem is alone, Jerusalem is depressed, Jerusalem is crying. If we are together, we will be a big sea like a mile. Therefore, you young students are the future of this Islamic world. You need to be very well-equipped in terms of knowledge and wisdom."
