“Epilepsy Awareness Day” Event by the Electroneurophysiology Club
At the event organized by the Electroneurophysiology Club, epilepsy, EEG recording processes, and neurophysiological assessments were addressed with the participation of experts.
The “Epilepsy Awareness Day” event, organized by the Üsküdar University Electroneurophysiology Club, was held on March 26, 2026, at the Emir Nebi 1 Conference Hall at Çarşı Campus. At the event, organized in a talk, seminar, and symposium format, up-to-date information on epilepsy was shared, and comprehensive presentations were given on EEG recording processes and neurophysiological assessments.
At the well-attended event, expert academics and health professionals came together with students. As part of the program, presentations on epilepsy and neurophysiology were given by Prof. Dr. Murat Aksu, Prof. Dr. Candan Gürses, Prof. Dr. Sema Saltık, Lect. Recep Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Özlem Çokar, Lect. Nelis Bosnalı, and Specialist Technician Eda Yaşar.
Throughout the event, assessments were made on the neurological basis of epilepsy, its diagnostic processes, and the level of public awareness. Students followed with particular interest how EEG recordings are performed, how the results are interpreted, and the importance of electroneurophysiology practices in clinical processes.
The program also addressed approaches to improving the quality of life of epilepsy patients, the importance of early diagnosis, and multidisciplinary work processes. Participants had the opportunity not only to gain theoretical knowledge but also to acquire valuable information on clinical practice.
During the event, students had the opportunity to ask the experts questions and get direct answers on topics they were curious about in the field. The insights shared on EEG applications and neurophysiological assessment processes in particular increased students’ professional awareness.
The event, attended by approximately 300 people, drew great interest from students. Participants stated that addressing issues closely related to public health, such as epilepsy, from a scientific perspective was highly valuable.
The “Epilepsy Awareness Day” event, organized by the Electroneurophysiology Club, was one of the important events that contributed to students’ professional development, raised awareness in the health field, and supported scientific exchange.
