A Breath for the Future, Value for Üsküdar: The Youth Club Plants Saplings
As part of the "November 11 National Afforestation Day" event, the Üsküdar University Youth Club planted saplings in Silivri with a group of 50 students. In this meaningful social activity, carried out under the auspices of the Istanbul Governorship and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, young people from Üsküdar both contributed to the ecosystem and became a breath for the future with a sustainable environmental awareness.
The Üsküdar University Youth Club set its course for Silivri to raise environmental awareness and reinforce a sense of social responsibility. At the event held on the occasion of November 11 National Afforestation Day, 50 environmental volunteer students from our university actively took part in the afforestation campaign organized in partnership with the Istanbul Governorship and the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports.
Setting out with the goal of leaving a greener world to future generations, students learned sapling planting techniques hands-on under the guidance of expert teams. Informed during the planting about the critical role of afforestation in combating climate change and about protecting the ecosystem, the young people experienced both the peace of working in harmony with nature and the pride of contributing to society.

In this comprehensive organization carried out under the auspices of the Istanbul Governorship, Üsküdar University's environmental sensitivity and "sustainable campus" vision were carried to the lands of Silivri. Throughout the event, students acted with the awareness that every sapling planted is a source of life, supporting with youthful energy the government policies aimed at increasing forest cover.
Not limited to planting saplings, the event also included mini training sessions by experts that emphasized the importance of a sustainable approach to the environment in individual lives. While learning firsthand in the field that protecting nature is a civic duty, our students also strengthened their sense of community by coming together with friends from different faculties through this off-campus social activity.

Officials of the Üsküdar University Youth Club stated that this contribution to nature is just a beginning for them and that environmental projects will continue to grow. At the end of a productive and impressive day, students left Silivri after giving the saplings they had planted their first water. This meaningful social responsibility project concluded with a group photo.
