A Bridge of Conscience from Üsküdar to Gaza: “Silent Call” Exhibition and Commemoration Program
The Üsküdar University Future of Kindness Club drew attention to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza with its "Silent Call for Gaza" event held on October 07, 2025. While the exhibition at the Çarşı Campus addressed the world with declarations in Turkish and English, the martyrs were remembered with a funeral prayer in absentia and supplications.
Üsküdar University once again demonstrated its sensitive stance toward humanitarian crises around the world with a meaningful event. The "Silent Call for Gaza" exhibition, organized by the Future of Kindness Club on October 07, 2025 in the Çarşı Campus Garden, was held to draw attention to the genocide committed against civilians in Gaza and to be the voice of conscience.

The program, which appealed to a wide audience, was supported by faculty members of our university Prof. Dr. İsmail Barış, Sadık Paksoy and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, as well as important groups such as Çağın Vicdanı, Kızılay (Turkish Red Crescent), Genç Tıbbiyeliler and Genç Yeryüzü Doktorları. Throughout the exhibition, which ran from 09.00 to 17.00 on October 07, 2025, visuals depicting the resistance and the tragedy in Gaza were presented to students and visitors.

During the reading of the declarations, one of the most striking moments of the program, a bilingual call was made to the world. Ahmet Demircan read the Turkish declaration and Ahmet Sadık Öğüt read the English one, bringing the universal language of standing against oppression to the campus garden. Following the declarations, a funeral prayer in absentia was performed for those who lost their lives in Gaza, led by Enes Tarık Topal. Accompanied by supplications recited by Mehmet Emre Doğrusever, approximately 56 students and academic staff stood in rows, united in heart for their brothers and sisters in Gaza.
Future of Kindness Club officials emphasized that this exhibition was not only a commemoration but also a vigil of awareness and conscience. The silent call, which continued throughout the day, proved once again how sensitive university youth are to global issues and human rights violations.

The program ended with a group prayer and a tour of the exhibition area. Coordinated under the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), this meaningful event once again affirmed Üsküdar University’s sense of social responsibility and the academic community’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian values.
