A Bridge of Vision from Past to Future: Industrial Engineering Alumni Meetup
With its "Industrial Engineering Alumni Meetup" event, the Üsküdar University Industry and Leadership Club brought together alumni, academics and the club's management. At this meaningful gathering held at the Main Campus, strategic ideas were exchanged on raising the department's profile in the sector, with the aim of strengthening the bond between alumni and students.
The Üsküdar University Industry and Leadership Club hosted an important networking event bringing together past and future representatives of the department. At the breakfast gathering held in A Block of the Main Campus, the business experience of alumni and the dynamism of students came together at the same table. Going beyond a mere social gathering, the event became a platform for discussing projects that will contribute to the department's institutional identity.
The main item on the meeting's agenda was how to further raise the profile of the Industrial Engineering department and Üsküdar University in the sector. In the conversation, enriched by the participation of academics, concrete proposals were developed regarding alumni success stories in professional life, internship opportunities and industry collaborations. It was emphasized that such gatherings reinforce "alumni-student solidarity," the first step of university-industry collaboration.
In the sessions where alumni shared what they had gained on their career journeys, the club's management team also provided information about projects for the coming term. With the feedback they received from alumni, students had the opportunity to add new perspectives to their education and career planning. Academics, for their part, expressed how critical alumni feedback from the sector is in keeping the curriculum up to date.
The event, attended by 40 participants, demonstrated a shared commitment to keeping the culture of "being an Üsküdar graduate" alive in professional life after university. A consensus was reached on alumni mentoring their peers who are still studying and supporting club activities. The talks, held in a warm atmosphere, enabled the community to focus on common goals.
The Industry and Leadership Club announced that this strong bond with alumni will be made sustainable and that similar gatherings will continue on a regular basis. The event concluded with free time in which participants discussed developments in the sector, followed by a group photo.
