A Closer Look at the World of Design: Yusuf Enes Merter Meets Üsküdar University Students

At the “A Talk with Yusuf Enes Merter” event organized by the Üsküdar University Design Club, the current dynamics of the communication design field were discussed. Throughout the talk, industry experiences, creative production processes and the evolving nature of the design discipline were shared with students.

The “A Talk with Yusuf Enes Merter” event organized by the Üsküdar University Design Club brought students interested in communication design together with industry experience. At the event, held at the South Campus Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, the current place of communication design, its development and the dynamics encountered in the industry were discussed.

Drawing on his professional experience throughout the talk, communication designer Yusuf Enes Merter emphasized that the design discipline is not merely a field of aesthetic production, but also encompasses strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants had the opportunity to learn how creativity can be developed in design processes and which competencies are important for making a difference in the industry.

In the talk, which proceeded interactively with a Q&A session, students asked questions about career planning in communication design, the portfolio-building process and current expectations in the industry. In this way, participants gained knowledge that will contribute to both their academic and professional development and increased their awareness of the field.

By enabling students to communicate directly with industry representatives, the event helped reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Held in line with the Design Club’s approach of organizing events that support students’ professional development, the talk was followed with great interest by participants.

Attended by approximately 60-70 students, the event helped increase interest in communication design while also enabling students to gain up-to-date perspectives on the industry. The talk created a productive learning environment that brought academic knowledge and industry experience together.

While Üsküdar University student clubs continue to contribute to students’ professional and personal development through field-focused events, this talk organized by the Design Club was also an informative and inspiring experience for participants.
