A Critical Role at the Heart of Life: The Perfusion Profession Introduced on Campus

Üsküdar University's NP Health Campus hosted an important promotional event on perfusion, one of the most technical and critical fields of the health sciences. Organized by the Perfusion Club, the promotional stand opposite the İbni Sina Auditorium attracted great interest from students for two days. The event aimed in particular to help students in health disciplines become closely acquainted with the duties of perfusionists, among the most important stakeholders in the operating room.

Throughout the stand activities, club members provided participants with technical information on the working principles of the heart-lung machine and how extracorporeal circulation is managed during surgery. The vital responsibilities of perfusionists, described as "the hands that manage the flow of life," in surgical operations were shared with the help of visuals and informative materials. In this way, questions in the minds of students interested in the profession were answered directly by people with first-hand experience.

At the stand, visited by more than 100 students, the activities were not limited to technical information; the club's social and academic calendar was also introduced. Students who listened to the Perfusion Club's vision and event projects blended with the "Science of Goodness" philosophy had the opportunity to become part of this dynamic structure by joining the club. Highly productive in terms of gaining new members, the event created a strong pool of human resources for the club's future projects.

One of the most important points emphasized during the promotion was that perfusion is teamwork and its strategic importance in a multidisciplinary work environment. Aiming to raise awareness in the field of health, club members also shared the latest developments in perfusion technologies with their peers, building an up-to-date bridge of knowledge. Students who visited the stand had the chance to learn on site about many different competencies of a perfusionist, from crisis management skills to technical expertise.

At the end of the two-day event, Perfusion Club officials stated that they had achieved their goal of raising professional awareness and thanked all the students who showed interest in the stand. Held at the beginning of the academic year, this promotional activity both strengthened the reputation of the profession and increased the club's visibility on campus. The event was successfully completed with souvenir photos taken by club members at the stand.
