A Journey of Ideas with Mustafa Kutlu: An In-Depth Analysis of "Ya Tahammül Ya Sefer"
The Future of Kindness Club examined "Ya Tahammül Ya Sefer," a work by Mustafa Kutlu, a master writer of Turkish literature, at its online "Book Analysis" event.
The Üsküdar University Future of Kindness Club made a meaningful start to its training series, organized to enrich students' intellectual world and to explore important works of Turkish literature more closely. At the "Book Analysis 1" event held on a digital platform on December 6, 2025, Mustafa Kutlu's cult work "Ya Tahammül Ya Sefer," which questions modernization and commitment to a cause, was put under the microscope.
At the online meeting, comprehensive assessments were made of the work's main themes: tradition, change, and the inner journey of a person devoted to a cause. In the session, which progressed with the active participation of club members, the effects of social transformation on individuals and the moral questions raised by modern times were discussed interactively through Kutlu's characters.
In the workshop-format event, participants shared their thoughts guided by questions prepared about the book and had the opportunity to analyze the work's subtexts. Comments on Mustafa Kutlu's distinctive style and the depth of his storytelling contributed to participants' critical reading skills, while ideas were exchanged on what the concepts of "tahammül" (endurance) and "sefer" (setting out) mean for today's youth.
Going beyond simply summarizing a book, this education-focused analysis program aimed to enrich participants' cultural knowledge and to develop social awareness through literary texts. Held in a boutique atmosphere with a small but dedicated group of participants, this first session allowed for an in-depth analysis of the perspectives the book offers.
Officials of the Future of Kindness Club stated that the book analyses, organized to promote a culture of reading and to build intellectual discipline, will continue with different authors as the series progresses. Activities of this kind, which contribute to Üsküdar University's intellectual climate, aim to strengthen students' cultural background as well as their academic development.
