A Strong Start Against Rare Diseases: ÜÜRARE Team Introduction Meeting Held

With the "Team Meet-and-Greet Event" held in the Kuleli Hall, the Üsküdar University Rare Diseases Club (ÜÜRARE) set its goals for the new term and strengthened its organizational structure.

The Rare Diseases Club (ÜÜRARE), one of Üsküdar University’s pioneering student organizations in social awareness and health, held a meaningful gathering in the Kuleli Hall on December 12, 2025. Organized to help the different units within the club get to know one another and improve coordination, the "Team Meet-and-Greet Event" took place with highly motivated members.

At the opening of the meeting, ÜÜRARE’s core mission of raising awareness of rare diseases and supporting scientific processes was shared with participants. Detailed presentations were given on the areas of responsibility of the teams within the club, the projects they will carry out and the scientific activities planned for the academic year. This process played a critical role in helping new members align with the club’s vision.

In the sessions introducing the working groups in which participants can specialize according to their interests, the distribution of tasks across a wide range of areas, from science to social awareness, was discussed. At the event, attended by around 20 students, interactive introduction sessions were held to strengthen communication among members. This laid a solid foundation for projects to be launched in the future.

Working in a sensitive and important field such as rare diseases, club members emphasized through this introductory meeting that they are not only a student organization but also a network of scientific solidarity. During the meeting, opportunities for collaboration between teams were discussed, and ideas were exchanged on how to integrate an interdisciplinary working culture into club projects.

The event concluded with the organizational structure clarified and the team members’ roles defined. ÜÜRARE officials stated that following this productive gathering, innovative projects to raise public awareness of rare diseases will gain momentum. This motivating start in the Kuleli Hall heralded new work that will contribute to the university’s vision in the health sciences.
