"Antimicrobial Resistance: Lessons of the Past, Challenges of the Present, Hope for the Future" Panel

Üsküdar Medical Students' Union, affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, organized the online panel titled "Antimicrobial Resistance: Lessons of the Past, Challenges of the Present, Hope for the Future" on November 27, 2024. The event was organized to discuss the threats that antimicrobial resistance poses to global health and the measures that can be taken against these threats.

An Effective Panel Experience

In the panel, Prof. Dr. Birgül Kaçmaz and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Güdücüoğlu provided valuable information to the participants about the causes of antimicrobial resistance, current methods of combating antimicrobial resistance and future studies. While receiving this information, participants were also raised awareness on the prevention of antimicrobial resistance.

Impact of the Panel on the Participants

At the end of the panel, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the topics they were curious about in more detail. The pre-test and post-test conducted at the event also revealed the positive impact of the information provided to the participants. It was emphasized that the panel had a significant educational impact on the participants.

Üsküdar Medical Students' Association aims to increase the number of awareness raising events on global health issues such as antimicrobial resistance and to inform more people about these issues.
