Big Smiles on Little Faces: A Children’s Festival by the Haydi Tut Elimi Club
With the "Children’s Festival" it organized at the Fevziye Meriç Child Support Center, the Üsküdar University Haydi Tut Elimi Club contributed to the social development of disadvantaged children and gave them an unforgettable day.
Carrying Üsküdar University’s social responsibility vision beyond the boundaries of the campus, the Haydi Tut Elimi Club held another meaningful event. The "Children’s Festival," held at the Fevziye Meriç Child Support Center on December 20, 2026, was organized to support the socialization of disadvantaged children and offer them a fun learning environment.

On this special day, carried out in partnership with the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, university students and children came together to display the finest examples of solidarity. The day-long program included play workshops, interactive entertainment and educational activities. Each activity, led by club members, was designed to help the children gain self-confidence and communicate in a healthy way with their peers.
The event program was enriched with games aimed at developing the children’s physical and mental skills. Thanks to activities accompanied by music and group games, the children spent fun and educational time outside their daily routines. The volunteer students gave one-on-one attention to each child, devised games tailored to their interests and spread the festive spirit to every corner of the center.

Focused on social contribution, this festival was an important awareness-raising experience not only for the children but also for the volunteer university students. The participating students observed firsthand the sensitivities involved in working with disadvantaged groups, while having the opportunity to put the principles of social work and volunteering into practice. The happiness on the children’s faces at the end of the festival proved once again the healing power of such projects in the social fabric.
Haydi Tut Elimi Club officials stated that they will continue to touch children’s lives and support them, and thanked their partners and volunteer team. Such volunteering projects carried out under the umbrella of Üsküdar University are planned to continue and expand at different support centers in the coming terms.
