Cultural trip to Edirne was organized
Üsküdar University SKS Department History Club organized a trip to our distinguished city Edirne as a club activity. The club departed from Üsküdar University Central Campus at 07.30 and started the journey with in-bus refreshments. After a journey of 232 km and approximately 2.5 hours, we arrived in Edirne, which was a Thracian village with the ancient name of Orestia in the first age, Hadrianapolis during the Roman period, and Edirne, which was the capital of the Ottoman Empire for 92 years and is a museum city with its architectural works.

Üsküdar University SKS Department History Club organized a trip to our distinguished city Edirne as a club activity. The trip started at 07.30 from the front of Üsküdar University Central Campus and started with in-bus refreshments. After a journey of 232 km and about 2.5 hours, we arrived in Edirne, which was a museum city with its architectural works, which was the ancient name of Orestia, a Tracian village in the ancient times, Hadrianapolis city during the Roman period and the capital of the Ottoman Empire for 92 years.
Then the club members took a break at the countryside café after visiting Karaağaç Trip, Historical Maritsa Bridge, Lausanne Monument, Lausanne Monument, Train station, which is connected to Edirne by a 4 km. nature and historical road, which was annexed to Turkish territory with the Lausanne Peace Treaty on July 24, 1924. After the break here, they returned to Edirne City Center and started the trip in Edirne. II. Balkan Wars during the Balkan Wars , the Şükrü Pasha Monument in Bucuktepe Bastion, the example of Military Architecture where the defense of Edirne was made, the Balkan War Museum, the Serbian War Museum, a tour of the palace, the historical Kırkpınar oil wrestling arena, Pavilion of Justice, The club members visited Fatih and Saray bridges and visited the ruins of Edirne Palace, where Mehmet the Conqueror and Cem Sultan were born and ruled, and Babüssade, Palace kitchens, Cihannüma Pavilion, Sand Pavilion and Hammam Balkan Martyrdom.
After visiting the Bayezid II Complex Health Museum where mental patients were treated with the sound of water, music and fragrances in the 16th century and which was awarded the European museum prize by the Council of Europe in 2004, the Üç Şerefeli Mosque famous for its door, the Old Mosque (Ulu mosque) famous for its writings and the Selimiye Mosque, which Mimar Sinan said "My Masterpiece", free time and shopping break were given. Afterwards, it was reported that the club members ended the trip, left for Istanbul and arrived in front of Üsküdar University Central Campus at 21.00.
