Environmental Cleanup and Nature Hike Event in Çekmeköy by the EkoVizyon Club
At the event organized by the EkoVizyon Club, students raised awareness of sustainable living and environmental consciousness by cleaning up the environment at Çekmeköy Bike Park.
“Protecting the Çekmeköy Ecosystem: Litter Collection Event,” organized by the Üsküdar University EkoVizyon Club, took place on January 10, 2026, at Çekmeköy Bike Park. At the event, held in the heart of nature, students both contributed to cleaning up the environment and took part in activities aimed at raising awareness of sustainable living.
As part of the event, participants helped clean up the environment by collecting various types of waste found in the park area. Throughout the cleanup, the importance of individual responsibility toward nature was emphasized, and participants shared thoughts on the place of a sustainable approach to the environment in everyday life. Students had the opportunity to experience firsthand how even small environmental contributions can have a major impact in the long run.
Thanks to the nature walk (hiking) held in another part of the program, participants had the chance to get away from the hectic pace of city life and build a stronger connection with nature. During the hike, students both engaged in physical activity and talked about the importance of protecting natural habitats.
Taking in the view of Istanbul from the terrace area in the park during the event gave the program a distinctive atmosphere. As participants experienced the positive physical and mental effects of spending time in nature, the event created a friendly environment that encouraged social interaction.
At the event, attended by approximately 7 students, participants did more than just clean up the environment; they also had the opportunity to exchange ideas on environmental awareness, sustainable living, and ecological balance. At the end of the event, the students’ positive feedback regarding environmental awareness stood out.
Organized by the EkoVizyon Club, the event contributed to strengthening environmental sensitivity among young people, while once again demonstrating the importance of supporting awareness of sustainable living through hands-on activities.
