Forensic Science Students Participated in Symposium

Club activities organized under the roof of Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS) continue at full speed. Forensic Sciences and Criminal Justice club participated in the event organized by Kütahya University of Health Sciences.

Usküdar University Forensic Sciences and Criminal Justice Club members set off for the Forensic Sciences Symposium organized by Kütahya Health Sciences University with a student staff of approximately 80 people with two buses departing from the Central Campus at 02:00 on Thursday, 31 March 2022. The club members were welcomed by students and academicians at the University and after receiving the gifts prepared for the participants, they went to the hall where the Symposium will take place. The program started with the speeches of Kütahya Health Sciences University (KSBU) Forensic Sciences Department Head Dr. Faculty Member Harun Şener, symposium chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nebile Dağlıoğlu, KSBU rector Vural Kavuncu and Kütahya Governor Ali Çelik and music recital. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miraç Burak Gönültaş's presentation Vulnerability-Oriented Dynamics in Sexual Abuse Victimization: The Vortex of Sexual Abuse and Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Acar's presentation The Journey of the Blood Stain from Sherlock Holmes to Dexter.

After the lunch break, which brought together the Forensic Sciences students of Üsküdar University and Kütahya Health Sciences University Turkey's only Forensic Sciences departments, bomb disposal and crime scene investigation vehicles were visited and information was received from the police officers in charge. The event continued with Odunpazarı District Governor Ömer Ulu's presentation on Combating Supply, Prof. Dr. Kâmil Hakan Doğan's presentation on Crime Scene Investigation in Poisoning and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan İbrahim Öğünç's presentation on Crime Scene Concept in Forensic Shooting Analysis.

The program ended with workshops on fingerprinting, forensic anthropology and forensic toxicology. At the end of the program, a commemorative photo taken with the students of the two departments and KSBU academicians and the closing speech made by Dr. Assist. Prof. Dr. Yakup Gülekçi gave a closing speech and then left the school to have dinner together.
