At the Character Design Workshop organized by the Üsküdar University Design Club on November 12, 2025, Yağız Kani met with students and shared the fundamental principles of character design. Supported by hands-on demonstrations, the event helped participants develop their creative skills.
The Character Design Workshop organized by the Üsküdar University Design Club was held on November 12, 2025 in Block A of the South Campus. During the event, designer Yağız Kani shared with participants the key stages of the character design process and the elements to consider in design.

Throughout the workshop, many topics were covered, from the idea development stage of character creation to building a visual identity. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the details to consider during the design process for a character to be original and effective. During the presentation, examples were used to show how a character’s personality traits can be reflected in its visual design.
Supported by hands-on content, the workshop enabled students to put theoretical knowledge into practice. By experimenting with how elements such as form, color, proportion and style can be used in character design, participants gained awareness of creative production processes. The event provided an instructive learning environment for students interested in design.

In the event, which proceeded interactively with a Q&A session, students had the opportunity to ask the expert directly about topics they were curious about in character design. In this way, participants gained valuable knowledge that will help them develop themselves in the field of design.
Attended by approximately 60-70 students, the workshop was regarded as a productive event that supported students’ creative thinking skills. The interaction throughout the event increased students’ interest in the design discipline while highlighting the importance of production-oriented work.
Such hands-on events organized by the Üsküdar University Design Club continue to contribute to students’ professional development while strengthening their creative perspectives. The Character Design Workshop was also an inspiring and instructive experience for participants.
