Ottoman Turkish Reading and Translation Workshop Held
At the “Ottoman Turkish Reading and Translation” event organized by the Üsküdar University History and Culture Club, participants worked hands-on with texts and improved their skills in reading and understanding Ottoman Turkish.
On January 9, 2026, the Üsküdar University History and Culture Club held a training event titled “Ottoman Turkish Reading and Translation” via the online platform Zoom. 4 students attended the program.

During the event, reading exercises were carried out on Ottoman Turkish texts. Participants examined the selected texts together, analyzed words and conducted a hands-on workshop on rendering the texts into modern Turkish.
Throughout the session, both grammar and historical context were emphasized, with discussions aimed at understanding the texts correctly. In addition to gaining practice in reading Ottoman Turkish, participants also gained experience in text translation.
Aiming to support academic and cultural development, the event enabled students to engage directly with historical texts, helping strengthen their awareness of language and culture. Through similar training activities, the History and Culture Club continues to help students connect with their historical heritage.
