“Our Personal Traits and Genetics” Talk from the MBG Club

The academic talk titled “Our Personal Traits and Genetics,” organized by Üsküdar University Molecular Biology and Genetics Club, was held on December 12, 2025, at the Kuleli Hall in Block A on Main Campus. Notable for its scientific content and its approach addressing current topics, the event was followed with great interest by students.

Prof. Dr. Korkut Ulucan, who attended the event as a speaker, evaluated the effects of genetic makeup on human behavior, personality traits and individual differences based on scientific studies. Throughout the talk, comprehensive information was shared on gene–environment interaction, hereditary traits and the role of genetic factors in individuals’ lives.

Participants had the opportunity to hear not only theoretical genetic knowledge but also examples connected to daily life. Explanations that individual differences are related not only to environmental factors but also to genetic background particularly drew students’ interest. Examples drawn from current scientific research made the subject clearer and more engaging.

Throughout the talk, students actively participated in the event by asking questions they were curious about. Interactive discussions on the effects of genetics on human life turned the event from a mere academic lecture into a forum for intellectual exchange. The event proved highly productive, especially for students interested in molecular biology, genetics and health sciences.

The talk held by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club contributed to the development of students’ scientific perspectives, while offering an opportunity to take a closer look at the relationship between genetics, human behavior and individual differences.
