Positive Psychology Club continues its activities in May

Students of the Positive Psychology Club under the Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department attended an important event on the use of experimental animals in the fields of psychology and neurology. The event, which took place on May 07, 2024, was held at Üsküdar University Neuropsychopharmacology Application and Research Center.

Prof. Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Özçetin attended the event as a speaker and aimed to provide students with a broad perspective on what experimental animals are, how they are used in experiments and studies in the fields of neuroscience and psychology.

The participants received detailed information about experimental animals and experiments under the guidance of Dr. Lecturer Ayşe Özçetin in classroom 227. After receiving detailed information about experimental animals and experiments under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Özçetin, they visited the Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory. During the laboratory visit, the participants were informed about how the experiments are carried out and how the laboratory functions.

The event ended after the participant groups completed the laboratory visit. The participants had the opportunity to contribute to the studies in the fields of psychology and neurology with the knowledge they gained at the end of the event.

Positive Psychology Club Students Met at Asiyan Museum

Üsküdar University Positive Psychology Club Students organized a special event on May 10, 2024 as part of the "Doğan Cüceloğlu Teacher Memorial Program". This event included a visit and commemoration program at Aşiyan Cemetery.

The speaker of the event was Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Fatma Turan was the speaker. Her aim was to commemorate our teacher Doğan Cüceloğlu and to visit his grave on May 10, World Psychologists Day.

At the event, which started at Üsküdar Ferry Pier at 13.00, the participants and Dr. Assist. Prof. Fatma Turan came together. The participants went to Aşiyan by ferry and met with Yıldız Hacıevliyagil Cüceloğlu, wife of Doğan Cüceloğlu, at Aşiyan Cemetery and left flowers on his grave.

The notepads prepared for the participants included the words of Doğan Cüceloğlu and his wife Yıldız Hacıevliyagil Cüceloğlu. After the visit, the participants toured the Aşiyan Museum and then went for coffee with those who wanted to. The event ended after the coffee break.

Case Analysis Event by Positive Psychology Club

Üsküdar University Positive Psychology Club students experienced analyzing somatic complaints and maladaptive schemas from the perspective of somatic complaints and maladaptive schemas in the seminar held with the participation of Clinical Psychologist Gülseren Gül Anık. The event, held on May 08, 2024 at Üsküdar University South Campus E Block Eflatun Adam Conference Hall, attracted great interest.

The seminar was face-to-face and lasted two hours in total. There was a 15-minute break between the two sessions, during which participants were offered refreshments and a chance to rest. In addition to refreshments such as tea, oralet and sugar, participants were also provided with cologne wipes.

Clinical Psychologist Gülseren Gül Anık informed the participants about how somatic complaints arise and how maladaptive schemas function. Then, she presented a case study to help the participants better understand these issues, and provided them with a deeper understanding of the subject.

At the end of the two sessions, the participants presented a certificate of appreciation to Clinical Psychologist Gülseren Gül Anık. At the end of the event, the participants gained awareness on somatic complaints and maladaptive schemas in a more equipped way with the information they received from the seminar.
