The Üsküdar University Scientific Research Society (ÜSKÜBAT) brought students and esteemed academics together in the peaceful atmosphere of Belgrad Forest with its "Nature Walk" event held on December 13, 2025. On this special day, where scientific curiosity blended with a love of nature, participants had the opportunity to share their academic knowledge in a social setting while walking in the fresh air.
ÜSKÜBAT, the Üsküdar University society known for its scientific productivity and social dynamism, took a break in nature from the busy pace of the academic year. The nature walk held on December 13, 2025 at Belgrad Forest Neşetsuyu Nature Park not only boosted students’ physical fitness but also allowed them to interact with their professors outside the classroom.
Accompanying the students at the event were distinguished academics of our university, Head of the Department of Medical Biochemistry Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Sait Keleş and Head of the Department of Physiology Prof. Dr. Halis Köylü, as well as HCS Deputy Manager Kenan Karagöz. Throughout the walk, which started at 09.00 on the morning of December 13, 2025, friendly conversations about the biological and physiological effects of nature added academic depth to the event.
On the walking trail, which drew approximately 30 students, participants relieved their stress in the fresh air of Belgrad Forest, considered the lungs of Istanbul. Continuing until 21.00 on December 13, 2025, the program became not just a sports activity but a collective motivational event in which the mentor-apprentice relationship merged with nature. The students drew inspiration from their professors’ experiences while enjoying socializing off campus.
ÜÜBAT officials emphasized that scientific research is nourished not only in laboratories but also by observing nature and resting the mind. The participants’ energy once again showed how important such events are in protecting students’ mental and physical health. Carried out with the support of the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), this event was a successful example of strengthening the spirit of solidarity within the university.
At the end of the program, the academic conversations accompanying every shade of green gave way to fond memories and new projects. ÜÜBAT stated that it will continue its activities combining the healing power of nature with a scientific perspective in the coming terms. Group photos taken to commemorate the day immortalized this enjoyable walk.
