Sociology Club and the "Sociology in Film Frames" Event

Sociology Club Hosts "Sociology in Film Frames" Event

The Sociology Club, affiliated with the Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate of Üsküdar University, organized a film event titled "Sociology in Film Frames" at the Eflatun Adam Conference Hall in South Campus E Block between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

During the event, sociological scenes from old Turkish cinema were evaluated, and discussions were held on how the films reflected the social structure of the period. Participants had the opportunity to revisit fundamental areas of sociology, such as class relations, social norms, family structure, modernization, gender roles, and cultural transformations, through cinema.

The discussions, conducted from a sociological perspective, contributed to the students' ability to evaluate social phenomena from a different perspective. In this interactive event, participants deepened both their knowledge of cinema culture and their sociological analysis skills by exchanging ideas about the scenes.

Students expressed their satisfaction with the event, noting that it provided them with the opportunity to explore the intersections between cinema and sociology.
