Speaking Club Gathering by the Translation Club
At the “Speaking Club 2” event organized by the Üsküdar University Translation Club, students practiced speaking English and had the opportunity to express themselves in a social and interactive environment.
The Üsküdar University Translation Club held its “Speaking Club 2” event on January 7, 2026. Organized as a social activity, the program took place at Kahve Sokağı Kafe and was attended by 30 students.
The event offered participants a friendly and relaxed environment in which to practice speaking English. During the program, students split into small groups and chatted in English on assigned topics. Through conversations on a variety of themes such as daily life, student life, career plans and current events, participants had the chance both to expand their vocabulary and to practice speaking fluently.
Moderated by club members, the event encouraged participants to actively join the conversation. A supportive atmosphere free from the fear of making mistakes was created, aiming to help students build self-confidence. In addition, bringing together students from different departments strengthened interdisciplinary social interaction.
Notable for its hands-on format, the Speaking Club 2 event highlighted the importance of practice in foreign language learning and helped students make the language a natural part of everyday life. The Translation Club aims to continue improving students’ language skills and communication competencies through similar events.
