STEM Projects Club's "A Free Software: GNU/Linux" Workshop
Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department's STEM Projects Club organized a training workshop titled "A Free Software: GNU/Linux" at the A-Kuleli Hall of the Central Campus on 26 December 2024. In the event where Senior Linux System Administrator and Instructor Onur Keskin took part as a speaker, the history and technical development of free software and the relationship between this idea and Linux were conveyed to the participants.
Onur Keskin explained the effects of free software on knowledge sharing and community contributions and detailed the role of the Linux operating system in the industry. Following his presentation, he gave an introductory Linux tutorial, providing the participants with practical as well as theoretical knowledge.
The face-to-face event, which was attended by 35 people, was successfully completed in accordance with the club's goals. Participants expressed that they gained awareness about the historical development of the idea of free software and the importance of Linux in the world of technology. STEM Projects Club announced that it will continue to organize similar events with the mission of promoting the importance of free software to a wider audience.
