The talk organized by the Üsküdar Translation Club addressed new career opportunities awaiting language graduates in the age of artificial intelligence and the changing structure of the industry.
The talk titled “New Career Opportunities for Language Graduates in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” organized by the Üsküdar University Translation Club, was held online via the Zoom platform on February 27, 2026. At the event, which drew strong participation from students interested in language and translation, the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the translation industry and future career opportunities were discussed.
Prof. Dr. Tuba Arslan, who attended the talk as a speaker, shared with students the transformation that artificial intelligence technologies have brought to the field of language and the new areas of work emerging in the translation industry. Throughout the program, noteworthy information was presented, particularly on AI-assisted translation systems, digital content creation, localization processes, and new professions that language graduates may pursue in the future.
The event emphasized that language graduates will not be limited to traditional translation fields and can also take on important roles in new industries developing alongside technology. Participants had the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge about which skills stand out in career planning, how artificial intelligence tools can be used efficiently, and how to adapt to changing industry dynamics.
During the talk, students were offered advice and industry experiences that could benefit them in their career journeys, and the assessments on the impact of digitalization on the field of language were followed with particular interest. Students had the opportunity to gain different perspectives on the idea that technological developments have not eliminated the translation profession but, on the contrary, have created new areas of specialization.
The event, attended by approximately 46 students, continued interactively with a Q&A session. Participants had the opportunity to obtain more detailed information about the field by asking questions about AI-assisted translation systems, career planning, and the future of the industry.
Held in collaboration with the Beykent Translation Club, Istanbul Translation Club, Yıldız Technical Translation Club, Trakya Translation Society, and Young Future, the event was one of the productive events that helped students keep up with current technological developments and raised awareness of career opportunities in the field of language.
