The Keys to Success in Medicine: Peer Education from ÜSKÜBAT for the Doctors of the Future
At the "Peer Education - 1" event organized by the Üsküdar University Scientific Research Society (ÜÜBAT) on December 08, 2025, faculty of medicine students came together to share experiences. Covering many topics, from study tactics to the steps of a scientific career, the gathering featured exciting moments with a quiz competition with prizes.
ÜSKÜBAT, one of Üsküdar University’s most well-established societies supporting scientific productivity, launched a visionary project to guide students on their medical education journey. Held on December 08, 2025 in classroom 910 on the 9th floor of the NP Health Campus, "Peer Education - 1" brought together students at different levels of the faculty of medicine on common ground.
During the event, third-year students, clerkship doctors and intern doctors studying at Üsküdar University took the floor and offered valuable advice to their junior peers. In the sessions, which began at 16.00 on December 08, 2025, critical topics such as effective study methods that can be applied amid the intense pace of medical school, managing exam periods, and how to shape a scientific career from student years onward were conveyed in light of personal experience.

One of the most dynamic parts of the training was the "Kahoot Competition with Prizes", in which participants refreshed their knowledge. In the competition, held with the support of TUSDATA, students both had fun and engaged in friendly rivalry with questions prepared in light of the medical literature and current medical knowledge. Carried out with the active participation of 20 medical students, this interactive process once again proved the effectiveness of the peer learning model.
Throughout the event, which lasted about three hours, peer solidarity, a modern reflection of the master-apprentice relationship, was at the forefront. Advice distilled from the clinical experience of intern and clerkship doctors served as a roadmap that strengthened the sense of professional belonging for medical students just starting out. ÜÜBAT officials emphasized that such mentorship-based gatherings will continue as a series throughout the academic year.
At the end of the program, the importance of a culture of scientific research and collective learning was affirmed once again. Held under the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), this high-quality gathering contributed directly to both the academic and social development of students, in line with Üsküdar University’s vision for health education.
