Positive Psychology Club Brings Students Together for a Seminar on the History of Science

The Positive Psychology Club, affiliated with the Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate of Üsküdar University, held a seminar titled "The State of Science" in the Socrates Hall on December 1, 2025. The event attracted significant interest from students.

During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hıdır İlyas Göz discussed the historical development of scientific knowledge and touched upon the differences in the understanding of science between Europe and Asia. The transformations science has undergone from its emergence to the present day, the impact of interaction between civilizations on the production of scientific knowledge, and the cultural differences that have emerged throughout history were conveyed from an academic perspective.

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to think within the context of both the philosophy and sociology of science by asking questions about the fundamentals of science. The depth of the subject and the way it was approached were met with interest by the participants.

The seminar, attended by a total of 40 students, was completed as a productive academic gathering, enabling students to gain awareness of the historical foundations of scientific thinking.
