The Power of Words Took the Stage: An Inspiring Seminar on Oratory and Effective Speaking
A gathering where words are not just spoken but make an impact… At the seminar organized by the Üsküdar Perfusion Club, students discovered the finer points of effective speaking and making themselves heard.
The “Effective Speaking, Oratory and Making Yourself Heard” seminar organized by the Üsküdar Perfusion Club brought together students wishing to discover the power of communication. Focusing on the importance of proper expression in academic and professional life, the event reminded participants once again that words are not merely a means of conveying information but a tool that makes an impact.
The seminar’s speakers, Prof. Dr. Ali Kocailik and Şaban Özdemir, conveyed the theoretical foundations of oratory to participants, blending them with their own experiences. Highlighting the role of body language, tone of voice, emphasis and posture in effective speaking, the guests used concrete examples to show how connecting with the audience strengthens communication.

Throughout the event, particular attention was given to public speaking anxiety, the worry of not being able to express oneself properly, and ways of coping with these situations. While Prof. Dr. Ali Kocailik addressed building a sense of confidence in communication, Şaban Özdemir shared practical tips on how words can be used more effectively in daily life and professional settings.
In the seminar, where participants were actively involved in the process, practical examples and mutual interaction came to the fore. This approach allowed students not only to listen to what was said but also to question their own communication styles and improve them. In this respect, the event went beyond a classic seminar format.

Hosted by the Üsküdar Perfusion Club, this gathering showed that communication skills are not limited to academic success but are also decisive in terms of personal presence, self-confidence and professional competence. Participants left the event having experienced that words, when used correctly, create a powerful sphere of influence.
