The Stage Is the Mirror of the Soul: Psychodrama Workshop from the Cansağlığı Club
With the "Psychodrama Workshop" it organized on November 26, 2025, the Üsküdar University Cansağlığı Club took students on an impressive journey of discovery into the depths of the psyche. At this special gathering, led by Specialist Psychologist Halime Kırmalı, participants did not merely acquire theoretical knowledge; they also had the chance to experience firsthand the theoretical foundations of psychodrama and its transformative power on group dynamics.
The Cansağlığı Club, one of Üsküdar University’s awareness-focused societies, delivered an extraordinary learning experience on campus on November 26, 2025. Gathering in classroom 333 of Block A on the Main Campus, a group of 40 students took a close look at one of the most dynamic methods in the mental health discipline through the workshop led by Specialist Clinical Psychologist Halime Kırmalı.
Throughout the workshop, it was emphasized that psychodrama is not just a therapy method but also an "art of action" through which people free themselves by enacting their own inner conflicts. In this intensive three-hour program, held on November 26, 2025 between 12.30 and 15.30, participants went beyond the theoretical foundations and carried out interactive exercises on individual awareness and roles within the group. In the session, enriched by Halime Kırmalı’s expert perspective, each student had the opportunity to discover "the healing power of the stage".
At this gathering, which was more of an experiential workshop than a conventional training for students, the effects of group dynamics on the individual were analyzed using enactment techniques. While exploring, by "acting them out" in a safe environment, emotional processes they fail to notice in daily life, participants also added valuable field practice to their professional vision. The energy of the club members and the experience of the expert guest virtually turned the campus atmosphere into a professional development studio.
Held on November 26, 2025, this meaningful workshop blended students’ academic knowledge with social interaction, proving once again that university life is about more than just classes. The keen interest of the participants showed once again how critical a role such high-quality, boutique events run under the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS) play in students’ personal and career journeys.
At the end of the event, the Cansağlığı Club thanked Specialist Clinical Psychologist Halime Kırmalı for her valuable contributions and crowned the day with a group photo, an Üsküdar classic. Closing with the message "Be the lead in your own story", the workshop concluded by opening new windows in participants’ minds.
