Tsar Peter the Great and Russian Expansionism Conference by History Club

Üsküdar University History Club hosted a special conference for history enthusiasts. The conference titled "Russian Expansionism in the Period of Tsar Peter the Great", held on December 5, 2024 at the South Campus B-1 Amphitheater, aimed to shed light on an important period of history.

The speaker of the conference was Prof. Dr. İlyas Kemaloğlu, a respected name in the field of history. The expansionist policies pursued by Russia in political, military and cultural fields during the rule of Peter the Great were presented to the participants in detail. Prof. Dr. Kemaloğlu discussed how the Russian Empire affected the balance of power in Europe, its reflections on Ottoman-Russian relations and the importance of this period in modern history with a comprehensive narrative.
