Üsküdar University Red Crescent Club left unforgettable memories for the little visitors with the "Children's University Project"

"Children's University Project," launched by the Young Red Crescent in 2019 It was organized by the Red Crescent Club under the Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department in different campuses of the university.

The event, organized by the Red Crescent Club, aimed to support the spread of quality education and to provide children, the hopes of the future, with different experiences by hosting them in a university environment.

The Red Crescent Club management team stated that they aimed to "present the children with two days of university memories that they will never forget in their lives, to make them feel like university students and to create ideas in their minds about their future professions."

The first day of the Children's University Project started at the Health Campus. Students had a pleasant time in the workshops where they had the opportunity to get to know their departments. With the support of the Entrepreneurship Club, experiments were carried out in the Engineering and Entrepreneurship Workshop, while the Anatomy Laboratory was full of information accompanied by Dr. Zehra Akgün.

During the event, which continued at the South Campus, the children were introduced to the use of microphones and producer-director concepts in the TV Studio. The day ended with a cat feeding activity and games in the garden with the support of the Animal Protection Club.

The second day of the project took place at the Çarşı Campus. In the Forensic Sciences Workshop, studies on fingerprinting and surface dusting were carried out. With the participation of Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, children received disaster awareness training at the Emergency and Disaster Laboratory with the support of the AFAD Club.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Health Campus. In her opening speech, Ayşegül Tuncer, President of the Red Crescent Club, stated that the project, which "draws attention to the war in Gaza", was carried out by prioritizing the happiness of children. Tuncer thanked the management team and students for their support in the planning of the project.

After the speeches of Young Red Crescent Region 1 President Sait Karahan, Club Advisor Dr. Faculty Member Gamze Kağan and University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, the children ended the event by receiving their graduation diplomas and stationery sets. The event, which was colored with cap throwing and photo shoots, left unforgettable memories for the little visitors.
