Egyptian Coffee Break
International students to share their own tea/coffee culture with other students and increase interaction between students
The students were very glad that Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör participated in the event and tasted some of the beverages of Egypt. Four kinds of beverages were represented. The first drink was Jujube, known as (in Arabic عناب, in Turkish Hünnap), which is made of the jujube. The second drink was Sobia, known as (in Arabic سوبيا), which consists of coconut milk, rice, and water. The third drink is Tamarind, known as (in Arabic تمر هندي, in Turkish Demirhindi), which is made from tamarind. The fourth and last drink was Hibiscus, known as (in Arabic كركديه, in Turkish Ebegümeci), which is made from Roselle. ) The students did not only tasted some of the most famous beverages but also learnt about Egyptian culture. Some students asked questions about the Ancient Egypt and Pharaos as well. Overall the participants enjoyed getting to know the Egyptian culture .
