"Target Companionship" Project Launch was Held

In the event organized by the International Student Relations Unit of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS), Üsküdar University organized a launch within the scope of the "Target Friendship" project. Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan pointed out that the concept of friendship is the greatest value that Islamic civilization has given us.

In the event organized by the International Student Relations Unit affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS), Üsküdar University organized a launch within the scope of "Target Friendship" project. Speaking at the opening lecture of the Target friendship project launch held at Üsküdar University Central Campus, Nermin Tarhan Conference hall, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan expressed his pride in this study, which is the first in Turkey and even in the world.

Tarhan; "This is the first time such a project is happening in our country. In fact, there is no other example for the first time in the world. It was the subject of drama related to the field I work in positive psychology and it is important to give the meaning of target friendship with positive psychology. Loneliness is seriously increasing all over the world. There is a study conducted by Manchester University, in that study, out of 50 thousand people, 75% of those over the age of 75 are lonely, 40% of those between 16-24 are lonely, this is the effect of digital technologies. We thought about what we could do for international students to adapt easily and we started the target friendship project. Man is a relational being by creation, he was created socially. If he does not establish relationships, he cannot add meaning to life. We have seen the difficulties international students have with loneliness and we are implementing this project as a solution to this. We thought about the ways of deep thinking and when they experience an event, they should ask what happened to me and analyze it correctly."
