8 Steps to Improve Memory
Improving memory skills is very important for every student. Moreover, it is an important element that affects the lives of people of all ages and professions, not just students.
Memory techniques are a system that teaches the right methods to have an effective and efficient memory. If you are looking for ways to shorten your learning time and encode information permanently, this article is for you!
Suggestion Article: How to Strengthen Memory?
1. Apply the Loci Method

The Loci method is to associate a newly learned topic with an image. You can usually use this method for topics that do not need to be processed in the mind, but that you just want to remember. It is one of the most frequently used techniques especially for remembering birthdays, faces and names.
2. Peg System is Very Useful
The peg system is another widely used memory technique. It uses numbers and letters to associate thoughts with each other. Although it sounds complicated, it stands out with its benefits. To apply the peg system, a number that can be related to the name is chosen so that it is permanent in the memory. Moreover, in this way, you can memorize words and definitions that are difficult to learn.
3. Try Reading Out Loud
According to research to date, information read aloud is much more likely to be retained. Reading aloud makes it easier to distinguish words in the mind. This will make the information permanent in the memory in a much shorter time.
4. Tell someone else what you have learned
The best way to know that you have learned something is to explain it to someone else. This way you can test whether you really understand it. Teaching it to someone else will help you understand it more clearly and make it more memorable.
5. Apply the Spaced Repetition Method
When you repeat a newly learned subject at regular intervals, you facilitate its retention. Many students do not do this because they think it takes time and prolongs the process, but this is a very wrong approach. By creating a certain program and repeating that subject intermittently, you can use your memory more accurately.
6. Create a Healthy Lifestyle
Your lifestyle is the beginning of everything. Of course, your memory does not change completely when you wake up one morning, it is subject to a process. The quality of your sleep, the amount of physical activity and even the amount of rest you get are all very important aspects of your lifestyle. If you want to improve your memory, improving your lifestyle should be your priority.
7. Review your diet

Nutrition is essential for life. However, you can make learning easier by consuming foods that strengthen memory. Foods such as avocado, blueberries, walnuts, broccoli and salmon are known to improve memory and strengthen the brain.
