Set up your study area and find a quiet place to study without distractions.Make sure it's not too cluttered and has everything you might need.Learn as much as you can about the test so you can prepare and don't get overwhelmed.Ask your teacher if you're not sure what will be tested.Learn to make 'mind maps'and use them to collect ideas and thoughts, you can use bright colors to help remember important connections.Make a plan of what you want to work on in each study session.Break it down into small tasks and try to work on one task at a time.Try to take regular short breaks; this could be to have a drink, get something to eat or play with a pet, etc.

And most importantly, ask for help; if you are having trouble with something you are studying, make sure you get help from a teacher, friend, sibling or parent. This will help you save time.

  • Stick to a routine by eating and sleeping at about the same time every day.

  • Get a good night's sleep. This gives your brain time to recharge and remember what you have learned.
  • Give yourself small rewards after reaching your study goals. Watch a TV program or go for a run.
  • Focus on your work. Don't let other things distract you, such as friendship worries.
  • Avoid junk food, junk food will bring a burst of energy that will then quickly subside leaving you feeling worn out.
  • Maintain a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nutsprotein is good for the brain and energy levels.
  • Try some relaxation activities such as deep breathing, meditation or listening to music.
  • Cut down on energy drinks, they can increase nerves, drink plenty of water instead!

4-Tips for exam day

  • Determine what you need to take with you on exam day and organize it the night before.

  • Make a good, light breakfast, this will help with energy and concentration.

  • Go to the restroom before the exam starts.

  • If you feel yourself getting anxious before your exam, take some time to focus on your breathing.

  • When you sit down to do your exam, take time to slow your breathing and relax.

  • Read the exam paper carefully and underline key words and instructions.

  • Calculate how much time you have for each question or section.

  • Aim to take the time to reread the answers from start to finish and make any changes.

  • Work on the questions you find easiest first.
