What is a passport?

1- Burgundy Passport (General Passport)
Bordo passport is the passport that every Turkish citizen receives if their application is approved. Green, gray and black passports have different criteria. Therefore, the burgundy passport has the most travel restrictions. Every citizen who fulfills the conditions and does not have any problem in traveling abroad can have this passport.
2- Green Passport (Special Passport)
Green passports are issued to permanent employees in government offices. The main advantage of having a green passport is that they do not face any visa problems when entering most European countries. Since this passport is only for government employees, the criteria are different. In addition, you can continue to use your green passport after eretirement.
3- Gray Passport (Duty Passport / Service Passport)
Grey passports are generally issued to individuals who need to travel abroad to represent an organization. Since the passport is personalized, the families of gray passport holders can also benefit from a green passport. National athletes of our country are also among the people who have a gray passport. The most important feature of this passport is that it is issued to go on a certain mission, so the passport must be re-submitted after the end of the mission.
4- Black Passport (Diplomatic Passport)
Black passport is a type of passport issued to government officials. Members of parliament and ministers are the main holders of this passport. In addition, this passport remains valid until the end of their term of office. The black passport allows visa-free entry and exit to many countries.
How to Apply for a Passport?
To apply for a passport, first make sure that you have contacted the right institution. The Ministry of Interior is the authorized institution for these procedures. You can go directly to the Ministry or complete the application process online. You can also request an appointment by phone by calling ALO 199 General Directorate of Citizen Affairs. The important part of online applications is to make sure that the information is correct and to complete these procedures completely. Otherwise, your passport application may be rejected. For this reason, it is essential that the information is correct from the first moment to apply for a passport.
What are the Documents Required for Passport Application?
Passport applications require certain documents. Although these documents vary according to the type of passport applied for, there are common documents required for each passport. These are as follows;
1. Identity document /National identity card
2. Biometric photo
3. Passport
4. Consent for those under 18
5. Passport fee and book fee
