Social Taboos and Perception of Women Discussed by Watching Barbie Movie
Üsküdar University's Psychology Club, affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, organized an event at the Duha Beker Hall on the South Campus, where a film analysis of the movie "Barbie" about social taboos and pressures on women was held.
At the event held on March 15, 2024, the club management and members came together with the participants to examine the psychological depths of the film.
The event was face-to-face and welcomed a group of 35 participants. It focused on an in-depth analysis of the Barbie movie, particularly its impact on gender roles and the perception of women. By psychologically evaluating the behavior and challenges faced by the characters in the film, club members shed light on social norms and stereotypes of women.
The event proceeded as planned and achieved its goal. The in-depth analysis of the Barbie movie opened new perspectives for the participants and helped them better understand the psychological dynamics underlying social taboos. The Psychology Club plans to continue to organize similar events and engage with its members on psychologically important topics.
The Psychology Club's "Barbie" movie analysis event ended with an in-depth discussion on gender roles and the perception of women. The club management stated that it will continue to provide its members and participants with a psychological perspective through such events.
