One of the programs that make student life more enjoyable is Erasmus. This program is a European Union project that allows students to study in a different country for a semester or two semesters, getting to know new cultures and expanding their horizons, offering unique experiences for participating students. So what are the items you should take with you for this exciting semester? Let's take a look at them together.
A File Where You Place Your Important Documents!
It will be very useful for you to carry in your hand luggage a folder in which you can put the documents related to the school where you will do your Erasmus (such as the acceptance letter, a list of the courses you will take, the study agreement) and the document showing the place where you will stay, if any. You can easily access these documents in case of a possible problem.
Pack Your Painkillers and Other Prescription Medicines
Whether you are on Erasmus for one semester or two, it is impossible not to need painkillers and cold remedies. You are also very likely to be uncomfortable, especially when trying new flavors. Therefore, you need to add stomach protector to your list. If you take regular medications, it is useful to take enough of them with you considering the duration of your stay. However, you should definitely take the prescriptions of these medications with you.
Small Items that Reflect Your Culture
Erasmus means meeting new cultures and sharing your culture with your friends. It can be nice to bring food, drinks or ornaments that reflect the culture you belong to and share them with your friends. Especially key chains, magnets, badges or small trinkets can be a nice souvenir from you to your friends.
Portable Chargers and a Spare Phone If Possible
Thanks to this program, you will have the opportunity to travel freely in European countries. You will take lots of photos, buy your tickets online and do many other things from your phone. This means that you will have to keep your device constantly charged. In such a situation, portable chargers will come to your rescue and you will get rid of the ordeal of looking for a socket. You will be able to easily charge your phone and continue using it at the same time.
If you can, you can also take a spare cell phone with you in case of any mishaps. Being without a cell phone in a foreign country and looking for a new one will not be a pleasant experience for Erasmus.
Prepared Soups and Snacks for the First Days
When you arrive at your accommodation, you may not have the chance to shop right away, or you may be too tired to find the energy to cook. For this reason, it is useful to pack foods that are both satisfying and practical. Especially instant soups or pastas will be life-saving for your first days.
Correspondence Photos
Photographs may be required to obtain a museum or library card or for other transactions at official institutions. In such cases, you can take a passport photo with you to avoid problems.
