Mood Disorders and Artificial Intelligence Discussed with Innovative Neuroscience Talks

Technological developments in the field of neuroscience and the use of artificial intelligence were discussed in the online event titled "Innovative Neuroscience Talks - 1" jointly organized by Üsküdar University Neuroscience Club and Medical Technoscience Club on April 24, 2024.

The event was held on the Zoom platform and hosted 43 participants. As an invited speaker, Prof. Dr. Barış Metin discussed "The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Diagnosis of Mood Disorders". Prof. Metin's article titled "The Deep Learning Method Differentiates Patients with Bipolar Disorder from Controls with High Accuracy Using EEG Data" was reviewed and discussed.

After Prof. Dr. Barış Metin's explanatory presentation of the article, the participants had the opportunity to share their views and get detailed information in the Q&A session. Throughout the event, a general awareness was created about the use of artificial intelligence algorithms in the diagnosis of mood disorders and the importance of technological developments such as deep learning in the field of neuroscience was emphasized.

In the evaluations made at the end of the event, it was stated that the participants were very satisfied with Prof. Dr. Barış Metin's presentation and the question-answer session and that the event was full of information and enjoyable.

Üsküdar University Neuroscience Club and Medical Technoscience Club stated that they will continue to offer students the opportunity to follow technological developments and scientific research with such events.
