Young Yeryüzü Doktorları Club Organized Disaster Awareness Training

Üsküdar University Young Yeryüzü Doktorları Club organized a face-to-face training program aiming to raise basic disaster awareness at Kadıköy Disaster Education Park on December 28, 2024. In the event organized on a voluntary basis, the participants had the opportunity to participate in earthquake and fire simulations while gaining theoretical knowledge about coping with disasters.

Aiming to raise disaster awareness, the training program explained the precautions to be taken against natural disasters and the correct response methods in case of a disaster. The training program attracted great interest of the participants with its interactive applications. In particular, practical applications such as earthquake simulation and portable fire simulation offered participants the opportunity to experience situations that may occur during a disaster.

Within the scope of the training, participants were given comprehensive information about natural disasters. In the earthquake simulation, how to prepare for a possible earthquake and how to determine safe areas during an earthquake were demonstrated practically. In addition, correct intervention techniques in case of fire were conveyed through fire simulation. The 5-dimensional cinema experience conveyed the effects of natural disasters to the participants visually and audibly.

Between 10-15 participants attended the event. At the end of the training, the participants stated that they benefited greatly from the theoretical explanations and simulations. Stating that they gained awareness on disaster awareness, the participants expressed that such activities should be increased.

Young Yeryüzü Doktorları Club announced that it will continue its efforts to raise social awareness and plan new activities aimed at raising disaster awareness. Club officials emphasized that such training programs contribute to raising individuals who are aware of disasters in the society.
